🗺️ Our Route

August 11–23, 2026 – Toronto and Niagara Falls family trip with Leon and Emil

Day 1 – Monday, August 11

Arrival in Toronto. Check in at the hotel – we’re looking at Hilton or Marriott (Dani has a discount code, need to check!). Easy first day, explore the neighbourhood, grab dinner downtown.

Day 2 – Tuesday, August 12

Toronto Zoo & African Safari

One of the largest zoos in the world – a full day for sure. Don’t miss the African Savanna section. Bring snacks and comfortable shoes, the zoo is huge!

🎟️ Tip: Book tickets online in advance, or include it in the Toronto CityPASS to save money.

Day 3 – Wednesday, August 13

CN Tower & Ripley’s Aquarium

Start the morning at the CN Tower – the glass floor is a must, the kids will love (or hate) it! Right next door is Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada, perfect for the afternoon. Both are included in the Toronto CityPASS.

Day 4 – Thursday, August 14

Toronto Island

Take the ferry from Jack Layton Ferry Terminal to the Toronto Islands. Beaches, bike rentals, and a great view of the skyline. The water is calm and perfect for kids.

Day 5 – Friday, August 15

Africa Lion Safari

About 1.5 hours from Toronto in Hamilton. Drive through the safari park with animals roaming freely around the car – always a highlight for the kids! Plan for a full day.

Day 6–7 – Saturday–Sunday, August 16–17

Free days / AirBnb on the sandbar

Relaxing days at our AirBnb on the sandbar where the water is warm – perfect for the kids. Explore the area, swim, recharge.

Day 8–9 – Monday–Tuesday, August 18–19

Niagara Falls (1 overnight stay)

About 1.5 hours from Toronto. Stay at a hotel with a view of the falls – absolutely worth it, especially at night when they’re lit up!

Things to do:

  • Walk along the promenade
  • Hornblower/Niagara City Cruises boat tour
  • Journey Behind the Falls

Day 10–12 – Wednesday–Friday, August 20–22

Back in Toronto – loose ends

Final days to catch anything we missed, do some shopping, or just enjoy the city at a slower pace.

Day 13 – Saturday, August 23

Departure day. Head home with lots of great memories (and probably tired kids 😄).

Summary

Toronto has so much to offer for families – we can’t wait! 🇨🇦
